Comforts Systems USA, Inc.
Comfort Systems USA, Inc. was founded in 1996 to become the leading single-source, nationwide provider of comprehensive HVAC installation services and maintenance, repair, and replacement of HVAC systems for commercial and industrial customers.  The company went public in June 1997 with 12 operating companies and combined revenue of approximately $167 million. Today, Comfort Systems has 61 operating locations coast-to-coast in 50 cities, approximately 6,400 employees and approximately $1 billion in annualized revenues.

Comfort Systems USA has successfully grown by expanding services to existing customers and by attracting high-quality operations into its network of companies.  A large number of the Comfort Systems USA’s operations have been in business in excess of 50 years.  This success is further evidenced by the fact that almost 80-percent of the company’s revenues are recurring from the existing customer base.

The company’s commercial and industrial applications include office buildings, retail centers, apartment complexes, hotels, manufacturing plants, and government facilities.  Comfort Systems USA also provides specialized HVAC applications such as process cooling, control systems, electronic monitoring, process piping, and energy management services.  Over 90-percent of the company’s revenues come from the commercial and industrial sectors, with approximately half attributed to installation services and half to maintenance, repair, and replacement services.

With respect to installation services, the Company specializes in “design and build” projects whereby we are responsible for designing, engineering, and installing cost-effective, energy-efficient systems, customized to meet the specific needs of the facility owner.  Given that energy is often the largest cost for a property owner or facility manager, Comfort Systems USA is focused on creating a solution that will deliver tangible, bottom-line results for its clients.  An extension of the installation process is Comfort Systems USA’s ability to provide vendor-neutral, energy master planning, engineering, and installation services.

Further, many of our clients have begun to outsource their maintenance requirements, including those required for HVAC systems. Comfort Systems USA is in a strong position to assist its customers by providing technical oversight or by providing services to perform the entire HVAC maintenance function, depending on the client’s respective needs.   Such arrangements often result in significant client savings by incorporating “best in practice” solutions offered by experienced and knowledgeable Comfort Systems USA representatives.  In other cases, clients have elected to outsource their HVAC maintenance requirements, allowing them to deploy valuable personnel into their core operations.

Comfort Systems USA has significant capabilities in HVAC system maintenance, repair, and replacement services.  Our service network provides nationwide coverage of around the clock dispatch, consolidated reporting, and consistent quality.  With its vast network of nationwide resources, Comfort Systems USA is in a position to assist clients with large scale and/or multi-location, multi-scope projects.  The company already serves a large number of clients across geographical regions.  These clients are able to take advantage of a single-source, multi-disciplined contractor, which provides an array of services including installation and replacement, to the preventive maintenance and repair of these systems.  Comfort Systems USA has long standing experience with equipment from each of the major HVAC system manufacturers, which in turn, coupled with our in-house engineering expertise, allows us to design the “best fit” solution for our respective client.

Comfort Systems USA also offers a financing program that allows customers to obtain needed HVAC equipment and upgrades, without tying up working capital or credit lines.  Comfort Systems USA’s financing covers both soft and hard costs and allows customers to finance an entire improvement as opposed to financing each piece of equipment vendor by vendor.
